[ENG] CASIO G-SHOCK GA100 CF-1A9ER

The one I can say was my first watch. This G-Shock belongs to the GA-100 series, a series that includes a multitude of designs. Within the CF range we find three models with identical characteristics and military aesthetics.

Turning to the technical specifications, we find a fairly thick and resistant resin case and strap. As we are used to seeing in G-Shocks, it has high impact resistance and magnetic resistance.

The crystal that we find in this unit and in all GA-100 models is a sapphire crystal.

Although it may seem a bulky and clumsy watch, I can assure you that it is a useful tool and that in these times it has been put in a very modest way, reaching the point where it is the favorite watch of young people and adolescents.

It can be said that it is an indestructible and battle watch to wear it at all times since, in addition, it has a water resistance of 200 meters (20 Bar).

As we are used to in casio digital watches, we find led lighting. This lighting stays somewhat short in low light situations since it only lights from below creating shadows. On the other hand, we find a rather interesting point regarding lighting. This is automatic power on and selection of lighting duration. Automatic ignition consists of the watch turning on the LED when you move your wrist and keeping the watch horizontal by making the gesture of looking at the time.

This watch features world time consisting of 29 time zones (48 cities and coordinated universal time). When executing it, we have the option of keeping one time zone on the digital screen and another one through the analog system. If we only want to change the time use of the analog system, we will see how the needles begin to move on their own (which makes people who don't know quite funny). We can also activate the summer time so that, when the day comes, the clock automatically changes the time.

Following the specifications, this G-Sock has a 1/1000 second stopwatch with different measurement modes, distance and speed. It also has a timer and countdown from 1 minute to 24 hours with automatic repetition if so programmed.

Finally in terms of technical specifications, we find the details that are common in these G-Shocks: 5 daily alarms and one with an alarm function, full automatic calendar until 2099, 12 and 24 hour format ...

Based on the fact that it is a quartz watch, that is, that the power supply is a battery, Casio indicates that it has an accuracy of +/- 15 seconds per month.

According to specifications, the manufacturer indicates that the battery of this watch lasts approximately 2 years. In my experience with this watch, from the time I bought it (it was already on) until I had to change the battery, 4 years passed. These data were giving it a normal use, practically using the led every night and from time to time the time zone change.

When changing the battery, there is a problem. It is not that it is expensive to open it and make the change, the problem appears that once it is opened, they do not guarantee its tightness.

In what is my personal opinion it seems to me a watch that serves both to do sports outdoors and to take a walk casually. It is a watch that keeps well over time with minimal wear. It has a double pin buckle and a wide strap that still manages to be comfortable on the wrist and make you forget that you are wearing it.

This same watch can be found in 24 different color combinations of which I am also the owner of the so-called GA100-1A4ER.

The watch has a size of 55x51.2mm and a thickness of 16.9mm with a weight of 71 grams. This makes it a fairly bulky watch although as seen in the image (on a woman's wrist and another 17mm) it is not so exorbitant.

Reaching the end of the review, we are going to talk about the price. The price of this watch ranges from € 65 in its 1A4ER version (black with red detailing) to around € 80-130 in its camouflage versions. This is a very good quality-price ratio and this is attested to by buyers in amazon who value it with a 4.2 out of 5. In addition, among the best-selling watches in amazon, the G-Shock GA100 is ranked number 49. A This must be added to the well-known reputation of casio and the great value for money that can be seen in its products.
