The Seiko SGEH77P1 is one of the dress watches that I use the most in my collection due to its versatility. It is also called NEO CLASSIC, because it mixes the classic style in the numbering with modern touches such as the satin color of the hands or the size of the case. This watch is released in April 2018 as part of the SGE collection.

The denomination of the box is 7N42-0FW0 also used in its brother SGEG97. In relation to the measurements, we are facing a 40mm watch without a crown, which makes it a perfect modern dress watch. As for the 40mm case, it is made of stainless steel with a chrome finish and has a thickness of 8.8mm and a weight of approximately 52 grams.

From lug to lug it has 20mm. In this case the watch comes with a good quality black calf strap and a Seiko signed buckle.

The Seiko signed buckle on the front reminds us of its stainless steel finish on the back.

As we can see at the bottom of the dial, it has sapphire crystal, which makes it more resistant to scratches and micro-scratches. It does not have anti-reflective glass, although being the dial so dark, you don't notice reflections as remarkable as in other watches I've had.

The crown is as usual at three o'clock. In this case it is not signed. From my humble opinion, the crown is one of the things that did not convince me. As for Seiko, a brand that already has a certain reputation, it didn't cost anything to engrave the typical "S" on the crown. Although all this may have been for the purpose of simplicity that is sought in this watch. A simple and elegant watch, without any specialized maintenance.

Analyzing the movement, this watch has a Japanese quartz caliber 7N42 with a Q371 battery. This movement has a hack and two positions where the first allows us to advance the date and the second position allows us to change the time.

According to the manufacturer, it is not a submersible watch. However, on its dial it indicates that it can dive up to 100 meters (10BAR). Although, as already mentioned, it is not recommended to wet it, but it will hold that we wash our hands with the watch on or that we can wear it on a rainy day.

When it comes to packaging, the watch is well protected by a box with a porous texture and upholstered in black velvet inside. All this is covered by a cardboard cover in the same color as the box and with a slightly higher dimension to be able to house the manuals and warranties on the side of the watch.

As you have seen in the previous photos, it is a dress watch that also accepts multipurpose use. It is the perfect watch to go to the office in the morning paired with a leather strap and go for a drink in the afternoon with a born James Bond style like this:

In addition, it can be combined with a multitude of colors as it is such a simple design.

If you are interested in purchasing it, it is currently around € 100. As always happens when browsing the internet, you can appear in a fairly open price range. In this case I have found it from € 88 to € 289 ...

After all, with more or less guarantees, the watch is the same.
